With its historical background, fantastic buildings, beautiful landscapes and exciting nature, Selleberg harks back to a yesteryear atmosphere. Right up until the sixties estates such as Selleberg were lively, dynamic places that played a central role in the local community, both economically and culturally. It is difficult to imagine but Selleberg used to provide work and dwellings for more than 50 people. With the advent of mechanization of agriculture and increasing costs of life the estates slowly died out. One can ask oneself whether estates have a future at all?
Our goal is to reinvigorate and once again provide the opportunity to enjoy the unique environment Selleberg provides, by offering a relaxed way of living in a modern setting without letting completely go of the place’s tradition and history.
We plan this evolution to find place by focusing on four different areas:
- Remodeling of the stables into lovely, brand new 2-floored apartments.
- Parties, meetings and cultural events to take place in the Banquet Hall (Pejsesalen).
- Creating exquisite cherry specialties sold in our Estate shop.
- Tours of the property with story-telling about its history and / or its botanical treasures.
